Calculus is a higher level of mathematics primarily concerned with limits, functions, derivatives, integrals, and infinite series. Following the completion of algebra and trigonometry, students in secondary school, typically 16 years of age or older, will take calculus in several stages. Students in high school wishing to take honors calculus can expect a challenging college level curriculum. High school calculus teachers are certified and licensed, with at least a bachelors degree in a related major.
