Work in One of the Largest Districts: 1-5
While the Websites listed will post some jobs in the most of the largest school districts in the country, each district has it’s own internal department of education. Each department features a website complete with an internal Human Resources page which lists available positions, recruitment events, the ability to apply on-line, and relocation and demographic information. Follow the links provided to explore the website and search for the right job for you.
1. New York City Public Schools:
Size: 999,150 students
Site: NYC Education Jobs
Overview: Being the biggest school district in the United States, New York City is in constant demand for qualified and dedicated teachers. The HR website details clearly what positions are available and how one should go about procuring his/her desired position.
2. Los Angeles Unified School District:
Size: 707,627 students
Website: LA Applications
Overview: As the second largest school district, Los Angeles offers over 890 schools, ranging from kindergarten through high school. Again, with so much demand from a large and divers student body, teachers are always needed. The link above offers a list of benefits for prospective teachers and on on-line application.
3. Chicago Public Schools:
Size: 413,694 students
Website: CPS Human Resources
Overview: With a resurgent big city school system, Chicago expects to be a model for successful urban school reform. With this comes a hiring process driven by principle and the desire for growth. With 483 elementary schools, 67 charter schools, and 116 high schools, positions are always available.
4. Miami-Dade County Public Schools:
Size: 353,790 students

Overview: Miami-Dade county hosts the fourth largest public school system. The internal website features testing information, a calendar recruitment events, on-line applications, and much more.

5. Clark County School District:
Size: 303,448 students

Overview: Clark County is one of the fastest growing school districts in the country due to the rapid influx of people relocating to the Las Vegas area. The result is the fifth biggest school system in the US, with 347 schools and over 38,000 employees. The site offers internal recruitment and on-line applications.

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.
