One of Our Favorite Fictional Teachers: Mr. Feeny

Anybody who experienced most of their adolescence in the 90’s must look back fondly on the life lessons bestowed by George Feeny in the show Boy Meets World. Starting as Cory, Shawn, and Topanga’s teacher, Mr. Feeny also occupies the role of mentor, neighbor, disciplinarian, friend, and eventually, the principle. No matter what shenanigans the trio wound up in, Feeny was there either to give them a slap on the wrist or helping hand.

Ah, but let’s not forget Cory’s older brother and antithesis, Eric. The whimsical playboy never let Feeny off easy as they played off of one another. Through all of his diverse rolls, however, Mr. Feeny emerges as both hero and friend to the students. His patience and sagacity make him a model teacher, and his often-masked dedication to his student’s well being made him the perfect role model. If that wasn’t enough, his quintessential erudite accent gave him that little boost in image that makes him one of our favorite fictional teachers.

Favorite Quote: “Believe in yourselves. Dream. Try. Do good.”
