Teacher Jobs Portal invites you to participate in its premiere Blog Series named, “How to land a Teacher Job” where the teachers can receive up to  a $100 DonorsChoose.org “Giving-Card” to donate to the classroom project of your choice.

The theme for this blog series relates to the core mission of Teaching Jobs Portal, which is centered on distributing resources and identifying the nation’s shortages to help aspiring teachers find jobs.

In an effort to better understand how teachers find jobs, we want to hear from you on how to land a job with our blog series, “How to land a Teacher Job”

Write a blog post, start with one of the following:

  • “I landed my first teaching job by…”
  • “I landed my first teaching job because I possess these qualities…”
  • “Finding a teaching job can be hard, but here is some advice to make it easier…”

Please include an optional bio of 1-3 sentences with references to your websites, blogs, books and contact information.

Who is Eligible

This Promotion is open to all teachers and education professionals. Must have a blog that is older than 45 days old and has 20 or more entries written.

If you are a teacher or an educational profession you can guest post on an active education blog that has not already participated in this promotion.  Places to look to submit your story: school district website, education based blogs, nursing blogs and education based websites.

One Teacher Per Blog.

We are looking for teachers to be featured on Teaching Jobs Portal.  Here’s your chance.  You may also submit a quality, resourceful guest blog of 250 words or more that fits our criteria to Crystal@teachingjobsportal.com and receive a $25 DonorsChoose “Giving Card”.  If your story is featured on Teaching Jobs Portal we will give you an additional $25.

How to Enter

  • Submit an original blog on an existing blog that is 45 days or older. Supporting photos in .jpg or .gif format are welcome to illustrate the experience and are considered part of the essay submission.
  • After posting your blog entry send us an email. In the body of the email please include the hyperlink to your blog post, your the blog title, full name, what you teach and where.  Please type “Land a Teacher Job” in the subject description of the e-mail and send the e-mail to crystal@teachingjobsportal.com.

Extended Promotion: Begins Wednesday, March 3, 2010, and all entries must be received by April 16, 2010.

  • Editors of Teaching Jobs Portal will view blogs based upon the following criteria:
    • Your blog submission starts and ends with the required text
    • Your story is written with the goal to become a useful resource to aspiring teachers in their search to find a job
    • All 3 hyper-links are included in your closing post on your blog site
  • Bloggers will receive their “Giving Cards” in the form of a code via email within 24 hours of submission.

Blogger Terms

  • All blogs must be original and submitted on an existing blog.
  • Must be on a blog that is older than 45 days and has 20 or more entries written
  • Entries must be 250 words or more
  • Comments on the blog posts are more than welcomed but will not receive any DonorsChoose “Giving-Cards”
